A practice companion and coach, built on your own swings.
Pick swings you’ve already filmed, or film a bucket at the range. Rainge finds every swing, measures it, and tells you the one thing to work on next. The video never leaves your phone.
Link coming soon
Beta 1 is invite only for now. The public TestFlight link goes here when it opens.
Opens TestFlight on your iPhone.
A bucket report from Michael’s first session. Real swings, not a demo.

What it is
Your swings are the reference.
Most swing apps hold you up against a model swing. Rainge holds you up against you: your baseline, your stills, your swing thoughts in your own words. It works on one or two things at a time and keeps the rest of your swing in view.
The analysis runs on the phone. It traces your body through the positions that matter (address, the top, shaft parallel, impact), grades each check against a target, and writes a report for the bucket. It needs no account and no signal.
Over time it keeps track of which swing thoughts actually work for you, and which ones only felt good.
Swing 24 at impact, measured on the phone.
Make every bucket count.

How the beta works
An invite, an app, a minute.
An invite from Michael
Beta 1 is for about 25 golfers Michael knows. Your invite comes from him, with the link to install.
Install TestFlight, then Rainge
TestFlight is Apple’s free app for trying apps before they reach the App Store. Open the invite on your iPhone, get TestFlight if it asks, and install Rainge from there. Updates arrive the same way.
Look for this icon: the striped range ball on turf.
Open it and set up
The first time you open Rainge, it asks which way you swing, your usual miss, and your first name, if you’d like Michael to know it’s you. The coach is on from the start, free during the beta. Have an invite code? Enter it there, or in Settings › Coach.

Try this first
Start with videos you already have.
On the first screen, choose Use videos I have and pick a handful of swings from Photos or Files. Rainge sorts them into buckets by the day they were shot, finds every swing and writes your first report. That first bucket becomes your baseline, and Rainge suggests two things to work on.
Which videos work
Down the line: the camera behind you, looking at the target.
At hand height, far enough back that the whole swing and the club stay in frame.
60 frames a second or more, if your phone shoots it. Slow motion is fine.
Face-on videos are kept, but not analysed yet.
No videos to hand? Try the sample swing. It’s one of Michael’s, and it never counts toward your progress.
After one bucket: a baseline, and two focus areas to work on.
04
What you need
Four things before you start.
iPhone
iOS 26. Phones on older iOS can’t install the beta.
TestFlight
Apple’s free testing app, from the App Store.
Videos
Down the line. Face-on analysis comes later.
Units
Inches and degrees, for now.
05
The coach
Ask about your swings.
The coach reads your buckets, your measurements and your swing thoughts, and answers with the swings it’s talking about, by number. When there isn’t enough to go on, it says so.
15questions a week
1full review a week
That’s the starting allowance for every tester, free during the beta. It resets on Monday.
Seats are limited. If they run out, Apple’s on-device model can answer simple questions about a bucket on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, offline, and you can add your own Anthropic key in Settings.
Answers cite your swings by number.

Beta terms
A practice aid, not a lesson.
Rainge is a practice aid. It isn’t professional instruction, and it isn’t medical advice. If something hurts, stop, and talk to someone qualified.
Warm up, and practise safely. Mind the bays either side when you set up your phone.
It’s a beta. Screens, numbers and features will change, and some things will break. Your original videos stay in Photos.
The hosted coach is for golf.Anthropic’s usage policy applies to it. Coach seats are personal and can be switched off.
Nothing is collected by default. No account, no ads, no tracking. The analysis runs on the phone.
Anonymous usage is opt-in. If you turn it on, the app sends six event names, like first_report_seen, with a random install ID. Nothing about your swings.
The coach sees numbers, stills and notes, only when you ask it something. They pass through our server to Anthropic. We keep the token count and the cost, not the words.
Feedback is what you send: your words, a screenshot you can remove, and diagnostics you can read first.
Your name is optional. If you give it, Michael sees it next to your coach use and reports, never what you asked.
Settings › Delete all my data erases everything Rainge holds on your phone and asks our server to erase your install’s records.
In Rainge, shake your phone or go to Settings › Report a problem. Reports land in one queue with a screenshot and the details needed to fix them, and every one gets read.
